Military Daddy Doll - Johnny went on deployment when Cameron was only 6.5 weeks old. He is too young to be making memories, so I work every day to introduce Cameron to his dad in hopes that he will recognize and be comfortable with him when he returns. She hears his voice and sees his face every time he calls on Skype or FaceTime, hears his voice reading his stories in some recorded books that a dear friend bought us. , and sees his face in pictures.
Now she has another thing to help her bond, a daddy doll! I purchased Cameron's Daddy Doll from www.daddydolls.com. We found a one sided 17 inch doll that is almost as big as her! Daddy dolls are a great way to help children whose parents are deployed or who travel a lot for work. In Cameron's case, this will help him easily learn and remember his father's face.

Cameron actually looks at his dad's face on the doll and it makes him purr again 🙂

I photographed Johnny in his deployment uniform (which he will be wearing the next time we see him) against a white background. I removed the background in Photoshop, uploaded the image to the Daddy Doll Company and they made the doll. Note that the company asks that you “upload only original, unedited video files. We will crop the theme to best fit the product and remove the doll background. Using Photoshop With your education and experience, I knew I could remove the background better than anyone else, so I chose to do it myself. No one complained 🙂
The doll is a plush pillow made of soft microfiber fabric. They use advanced printing technology that creates a "non-fading" image that is dyed into the fabric so it won't peel or tear and is completely machine washable.
Daddy dolls can be one-sided or double-sided. If you are choosing a one-sided doll, choose from a variety of fabrics for the back. I chose a multicam fabric that matched Johnny's uniform. Text below the image is free, but no more than 18 characters including spaces. There is a pocket on the back of the doll for a memento or an optional voice recorder.
