Military Daddy Dolls - LEBANON, Ohio (FOX19) - The search for a lost and very special doll is helping a young girl keep in touch with her military father.

Jessica Osborne said her 3-year-old daughter, Mattie, lost her doll on Friday while they were at LaRosa and Dairy Queen on Columbus Avenue in Lebanon.

She said the doll can also be found on Route 48 at Bunnell Hill in Five Points.

Now, her husband is in Virginia training with the Kentucky National Guard, and before he leaves, she says her two older daughters always get dolls.

"I was out on Friday morning just to give them that prep talk, 'Dad won't be long but he'll be back', nothing," said Osborne.

"He wanted it, we couldn't find it. I ransacked the car, the house was broken down, the diaper bag was nowhere to be found," Osborne said.

"I've noticed that it helps calm the mind when they can at least pick up the doll, hug it and see a picture of their father inside. It brings them a little more comfort and bedtime is a little easier." ' Osborne said.

"He was destroyed. We use it a lot when he trains and he can't see her or talk to her. Please ... if you see this doll ... I will be grateful to come back," she reads the post.

She said if she had to she would get a replacement but she was hoping to find the original.
